Play Area Projects

A typical play area contract will involve earthworks, kerbing, both tarmac and rubber safety surfacing as well as the installation of play equipment, fencing, gates and associated street furniture. We also undertake contracts to repair and refurbish existing play areas. We are very aware of the need to meet exacting standards governing the installation of children's play equipment. Critical fall Heights are adhered to particularly when installing the safety surfacing in and around the equipment.

We were recently asked to design and build a play garden at New Tredegar School for the reception classes. This project provides a good example of a scheme that utilised a wide range of our skills. We undertook full design responsibility for the project and in implementing the scheme our staff had a chance to demonstrate their experience in the construction of timber structures and decking, paving, fencing, the installation of play equipment as well as planting and turfing works.

We are quite often called upon to undertake both hard and soft landscape works associated with new parks and play areas. Through the appointment of Landcraft, clients are often able to employ one contractor to undertake all external works elements, much simplifying the contract administration.
