Staff Qualifications
Our training policy ensures that all employees have the appropriate qualifications and experience and are provided with training appropriate to their personal needs in order that they may meet the duties and responsibilities of their position and that individual training is linked into the overall company business aims and objectives.
We aim to achieve this firstly by introducing new staff members to the company through a comprehensive induction system and then through regular staff appraisals or workforce ?Job Chat?s?.
Staff members are provided with a copy of their completed appraisal or Job Chat and any training needs are recorded on the overall Company Training Needs Plan. Arrangements are then made for the appropriate training to be provided and the system is independently audited by external consultants during our regular Investor in People (IiP) reviews.
All of our ground maintenance teams hold certificates of competence in the safe use of pesticides, and include at least one team member who holds a Certificate of Competence in Chain Saw and Related Operations.
Over 90% of our workforce hold Certificates issued under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) at Operative or Supervisor levels. Many members of our workforce also hold plant operator certificates issued under the Construction Plant Certification Scheme (CPCS) covering items of plant such as excavators, dumpers, rollers, agricultural tractors and telescopic handlers. A number of our foremen also hold Construction Site Supervisor's Safety Certificates (SSSTS) and three members of our management team hold Black Senior Construction Manager CSCS cards.
